McBRIDE, Keith Allen
Age 72, of Dayton, passed away on December 9, 2016 after a brief but courageous battle against cancer. Keith was born July 8, 1944 in Dayton, son of Louis and Clytice (Ki) McBride. Keith proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1963 to 1967 during the Vietnam War, where he spent time in Chu Li and Da Nang. Honors and awards received include a Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Upon his return, Keith attended Indiana University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1971, and went on to receive his MBA from the University of Dayton in 1974. He started with NCR in Dayton, but spent the majority of his career at the Mead Corporation, where he served as the Director of International Finance. Keith is survived by his daughter, Kristina McBride Purnhagen (Eric); grandchildren, Emma and Grant; sister, Anna Beeman (Gordon); nephew, Patrick Beeman; and niece, Kathryn Beeman. Keith enjoyed the stock market, fine dining, fishing trips, his koi pond and screened-in porch, books, movies, and his toothpicks, but nothing meant more to him than family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Keith’s honor to Hospice of Dayton, the American Cancer Society , or Marines Helping Marines. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Keith’s life on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 4-6pm at Tobias Funeral Home – Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, OH 45429. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2017, starting at 11am at the Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum, 118 Woodland Avenue, Dayton, OH 45459 with internment to follow. |
