Jeffrey Vernon CREWS

CREWS, Jeffrey Vernon age 62 of Centerville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 in his home, surrounded by his loving family, assured in death that his Redeemer lives. He was born November 4, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio and was preceded in death by his grandparents Lydia and P.H. Kessler, his mother Lois Crews and brother Jay Crews. He is survived by his wife Colleen (Healy) Crews, son and daughter-in-law John and Christa Crews, daughters Jane and Abby Crews, his beloved grandchildren Brody, London and Lylah, and brothers Jim Allen and Jerry Crews. He is also survived by his fellow card shark Margaret Healy, her husband Paul and their family. Jeff attended E.J. Brown and Colonel White, was “Mr. September” at Sinclair Community College ( in their calendar of Sinclair success stories) and graduated with honors from the University of Dayton at age 50. He was currently employed by Time Warner Cable. He attended Apex church and had many cherished friends at Southbrook and Crosspoint Vineyard. Many will remember him as “Moose”, a childhood nickname he was given because of his big head- but his heart was even bigger. A memorial service followed by a celebration will be held on July 10, 2013 beginning at 6:00 P.M. at Benham’s Grove, 166 N. Main Street, Centerville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, Jeff’s hope was that contributions be made to:  Dayton Gospel Mission/Youth Department, 64 Burns Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45402. Arrangements are being handled by the Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, West Milton.
