Hanspeter TSCHUDIN

TSCHUDIN, Hanspeter 86, passed peacefully Friday morning July 8, 2016 after a valiant battle with numerous concurrent illnesses. Hans was born August 25, 1929 in Lausen, Switzerland, and transferred to Dayton in 1960 with NCR. Speaking five languages, Hans traveled the world for NCR, stamping his passport in more than 80 countries and leaving his mark on all who met him, until his retirement in 1995. As a young man, Hans was a boxer and motorcyclist, and later fueled his passion for excellence through involvement with DECA (Dayton Early College Academy) and the University of Dayton, where he was inspired by helping young people succeed. After a 46-year career, Hans redirected his energy and talents to several organizations, including Dayton Sister Cities, Dayton Council on World Affairs and the Dayton Literary Peace Prize. Hans played important roles with the Dayton Peace Accord celebrations, planning the 1st and 10th Anniversary events, as well as DCOWA’s 60th Anniversary Celebration. Hans will be remembered for his generous spirit, his resolve, his ability to connect people, his investment knowledge, his strong political views, his love of wine and food, his excitement for all types of motor racing-having attended the INDY 500 for 57 consecutive years, his commanding presence, and his insatiable zest for life. Hans is survived by his devoted wife Sherry (Borton), married 41 years, and extended family residing throughout Europe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Hans and Sharon Tschudin Endowed Scholarship Project EXCEL at the University of Dayton (300 College Park, Dayton 45469-7051), the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, or a charity of your choice . A Celebration of Life is planned for Wednesday, August 24,th from 5-8pm at NCR Country Club.
