News Death Notice

REIGELSPERGER, Ron passed away on March 15th while snorkeling on Maui. He passed as he lived, enjoying life and giving it everything he had. Ron dedicated his life to giving disadvantaged youth a chance to succeed, and wanted only the story of their success in return. He advocated for those youth in a way that no one else could and spread his passion to everyone that he met. The scope of his influence is as wide as his heart was big and he leaves behind a world that is better because he was in it. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Romilda and Richard Reigelsperger, brother, Kenneth Reigelsperger and sister, Bonnie Bennett. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen; children Brad Reigelsperger, Mandy (Scott) Korfhagen, and Curt Reigelsperger; grandchildren, Jaimie Paul, Jeremy Paul, and Grant Reigelsperger; as well as much extended family. Ron was cremated before leaving the island of Maui, as he wished. There will be a service for Ron at Carroll High School on Saturday, March 31st at 2PM with a celebration of his life to follow, also at Carroll. Ron-style dress is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ron Reigelsperger Memorial Fund, care of the Dayton Foundation. All contributions will go to charitable youth programs in the Dayton area.
